Absolutely yes—if you're a business or VAT-registered entity, we strongly encourage you to add your VAT or TIN (Tax Identification Number) during checkout or immediately after purchase.
Why is this important?
Because according to Paddle’s tax rules, if you don’t add your VAT number, the VAT amount will be deducted from Bit Apps’ account.
Why Should You Add Your VAT Number?
It’s optional, but adding your VAT number helps ensure transparency and makes it easier for Paddle to issue a tax-compliant invoice. That’s why we highly recommend you to include your VAT number whenever possible—it makes everything smoother for everyone involved.
Here’s a quick guide on how to add your VAT number during checkout. And if you forget to add it, no worries—we also provide an option to update your VAT information after the purchase.
This is so easy, just use your email, name, country, and postal code and go forward. Proceed to check as usual.
Now you are on the 2nd page. Click on “Add ABN” as I select Australia. For Canada, it is called BN and for India, it is called GSTIN. In different countries, it comes up with different names.
Once you complete your purchase, you receive an invoice from Paddle via email. This invoice includes a link labeled:
“Add address and VAT number.”
Here’s how to use it:
3. You’ll be taken to a form.
4. At the top of the form, check the box that says:
“This is a business purchase.”
5. Once checked, a new field appears: “VAT number.”
6. Enter your country-specific VAT/TIN number and complete the form.
Your invoice will now reflect your VAT number, along with your business billing information.
