Set up Crisp as a live Customer Support Channel on your website.

Improving your customer support and enhancing user engagement is crucial to any online business. Integrating Crisp with your website using Bit Assist is a straightforward process that can significantly improve live customer support capabilities. With this integration, you can offer real-time assistance to your website visitors and enhance their overall experience. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to seamlessly add Crisp as a live customer support channel using Bit Assist:

Setup a Channel

  1. First, create a widget, then edit the widget
  1. Click on add channel to add the support assistant of your choice.
  1. Search and select the channel of your choice from the channels popup
  1. Channel Title: Set the proper Channel Title. Default it’s taken, Crisp. This Title is descriptive text for visitors.
  1. Custom Image: You can change the channel image of your preference. Also, if you don’t like the normal image, you can add a gif image you want.
  1. Make Sure to add the Crisp script to your website.
  • First, log in to your Crisp account.
  • Select ⚙️Setting➞ Website Setting➞ Add a New Website.
  • Enter your website name and domain URL (That domain you want to view the chat widget on)
  • Toggle Setup Instructions and click to open Checkbox Setup Instructions
  • You can set up your crisp channel on your website through two methods.
    • HTML
    • WordPress Plugin


  • Click the HTML option.
  • Then, copy it to your clipboard.
  • Now, Log in to your WordPress Admin panel.
  • In the left menu, select Appearance ➞ Theme File Editor.
  • To select the current theme in the drop-down menu, locate the upper right corner of the screen. Usually, the active theme is already chosen by default.
  • Under Theme Files, select Theme Header (header.php).
  • To add the crisp widget embed code to the text area on the left, paste the code right above the closing Head tag.
  • Click the “Update File” button below the text window to save the changes.
  • Your Crisp chat widget will now be added to the Bit Assist widget channel list.


To incorporate Crisp into your website’s widget code, you have the option of using a third-party plugin. By avoiding other setups, you can easily integrate Crisp with Bit Assist and enhance your website’s functionality.

WordPress Plugin

  • Now, Log in to your WordPress Admin panel.
  • In the left menu, select Plugins ➞ Add New.
  • Search Crisp from the search bar.
  • Now, install and activate the plugin.
  • To connect your WordPress website with the crisp chat widget, click on the “Install Crisp on my WordPress” button.
  • Finally, connect your website with Crisp.
  • Your Crisp chat widget will now be added to the Bit Assist widget channel list.
  1. With this Hide after office hours feature of Widget Options, You can organize your office time by enabling the Hide after office hours option. You have to upgrade to Pro to use the feature.
  1. With this Channel show on feature of Widget Options, you can now afford to hide or show channels on mobile and desktops as of your choice.
  1. Now save the channel by clicking the Save button. Then you will see a successful channel-created message.
