Setup a Channel

First, create a widget, then edit the widget

Click on add channel to add the support assistant of your choice.

Search and select the channel of your choice from the channels popup

Channel Title: Set the proper Channel Title. Default it’s taken, tawk. This Title is descriptive text for visitors.

Make Sure to add the Tawk.to script to your website.

How to Add the Tawk script to your website

First, log in to your Tawk account.
Select ⚙️Administration ➞ Channels ➞ Chat Widget.
Then, click the Widget Code to copy it to your clipboard.

Now, Log in to your WordPress Admin panel.
In the left menu, select Appearance ➞ Theme File Editor.

To select the current theme in the drop-down menu, locate the upper right corner of the screen. Usually, the active theme is already chosen by default.
Under Theme Files, select Theme Footer (footer.php).

To add the tawk.to widget embed code to the text area on the left, simply copy and paste the code right above the closing tag.

Click the “Update File” button below the text window to save the changes.
Your tawk.to widget will now be added to the Bit Assist widget channel list.

In the Tawk.to widget settings (login online in the admin panel), please ensure that On Click Behaviour is set to Maximize.
