Bit Form – Rating Field

The “Rating Field” is a super handy tool that allows you to share your thoughts and opinions by giving a score to something you’ve experienced, whether it’s a product, a service, or just a general experience. You’ll often see this feature in surveys and reviews, as it helps us understand how satisfied you are or what you prefer. So go ahead and let us know what you think with a simple rating!

To use this awesome field, just go to your form builder. Scroll down on the left side until you spot the Rating Field. You can either click on the field or simply drag and drop it into your form.

⚙ General Settings

1. Field Key

In Bit Form, every field has a special identifier known as a Field Key. This field key uniquely identifies a field, it also helps to send data via email, PDF, store database, and PHP action hook. These keys are important in Success/Error Messages, WebHooks, Redirect Pages, Email Templates, Workflows, and Integrations.

2. Name

The Name is an HTML equivalent input field’s name, you can customize it easily according to your preferences. You can easily modify it to suit your needs.

A field’s name is like a special label used when you submit a form. For example, let’s say the field name is “rating-1-10”. In this case, ‘rating’ tells us the type of field it is, ‘1’ refers to the form ID, and ‘10’ means it’s the ten-number field on the form.

3. Label

The Label Option in Bit Form provides customization for the text displayed on a particular field. Administrators can easily set the label text, serving as a descriptive guide for users filling out the form.

Adding Leading and Trailing Icons: In Bit Form, administrators can use the Leading and Trailing icon options to add a symbol either at the beginning (leading) or the end (trailing) of the label text. Bit Form provides access to a diverse collection of over 10,000 icons from various open-source libraries. Additionally, you can upload a custom icon to meet your specific requirements.

4. Subtitle

The field subtitle is a description that you can choose to display below the Field Label. You have the option to show or hide the field subtitle using this toggle.

This feature lets you include symbols at the beginning (leading) or end (trailing) of your subtitle, acting as visual cues to improve user understanding. 5. Admin Label

This field is specifically designed for administrators like you. It’s here to help you choose a label name that will show up on the responses page. So go ahead and pick a label that suits your needs!

6. Size & Position

It typically refers to the dimensions and placement of an input or output field within a user interface. It specifies the width and position, x-position, and w-width of the field on the screen or page.

7. Rating Position

The “Rating Position” setting allows you to choose where you want the rating field to appear in relation to the content. You have the option to place it on the left, center, or right side. This customization feature helps enhance the visual layout of the form, making sure it aligns with your preferences and provides a user-friendly experience.

8. Rating Icon

With the “Rating Icon” feature, you can easily select the symbol or image that best represents the rating you want to display. We’ve got a bunch of cool icons for you to choose from, so you can make your rating field look super attractive and user-friendly. Customizing your rating field like this ensures that users can effortlessly understand and engage with the ratings in your form.

9. Add/Edit Rating Options

10. Show Rating Message On hover

11. Show Rating Message On Selected

12. Helper Text

This option is great for giving visitors more information about what the field is for. You can use it to guide users on what kind of information to enter, any limitations on input, and specific formatting rules.

13. Required

With the “Custom Error Message” option, you have the freedom to customize the error message to fit your specific needs. Plus, you can add Leading and Trailing Icons to the error message to make it even more visually appealing.

• Asterisk Position: You have the option to choose where the asterisk symbol, indicating a required field, is positioned. You can display it before or after the field label and on either the right or left side of the field.

With this option, you have the ability to hide the field so that people won’t see it when they view the form on the website.
