Bit Form – Signature Field

With Bit Form’s Signature Field, collecting online signatures from users is a breeze. Whether they’re using a touchscreen device, touchpad, or mouse, our integration seamlessly adds signature capabilities to your forms. The best part? No special browser plugins are needed!

What happens is, Bit Form instantly processes the signature information and converts it into an image. Then, it efficiently sends and stores the data on your web server, alongside other form fields. It all happens in a snap when users sign the signature fields, giving you a quick and hassle-free way to collect digital signatures.

To use this awesome field, simply go to your form builder. Scroll down on the left side until you spot the Signature Field. You can either click on the field or easily drag and drop it into your form.

⚙ General Settings

1. Field Key

In Bit Form, every field has a special identifier known as a Field Key. This field key uniquely identifies a field, it also helps to send data via email, PDF, store database, and PHP action hook. These keys are important in Success/Error Messages, WebHooks, Redirect Pages, Email Templates, Workflows, and Integrations.

2. Name

The Name is an HTML equivalent input field’s name, you can customize it easily according to your preferences. You can easily modify it to suit your needs.

A field’s name is like a special label used when you submit a form. For example, let’s say the field name is “signature-1-10”. In this case, ‘signature’ tells us the type of field it is, ‘1’ refers to the form ID, and ‘10’ means it’s the ten-number field on the form. 

3. Label

The Label Option in Bit Form provides customization for the text displayed on a particular field. Administrators can easily set the label text, serving as a descriptive guide for users filling out the form.

Adding Leading and Trailing Icons: In Bit Form, administrators can use the Leading and Trailing icon options to add a symbol either at the beginning (leading) or the end (trailing) of the label text. Bit Form provides access to a diverse collection of over 10,000 icons from various open-source libraries. Additionally, you can upload a custom icon to meet your specific requirements.

4. Subtitle

The field subtitle is a description that you can choose to display below the Field Label. You have the option to show or hide the field subtitle using this toggle.

This field is specifically designed for administrators like you. It’s here to help you choose a label name that will show up on the responses page. So go ahead and pick a label that suits your needs!

6. Size & Position

It typically refers to the dimensions and placement of an input or output field within a user interface. It specifies the width and position, x-position, and w-width of the field on the screen or page.

7. Signature Pad

Signature Pad is a game-changer when it comes to digital signatures! It makes signing documents and agreements a breeze, saving you loads of time and hassle. You can trust that your signatures are secure and legally binding.

• Pen Width: Customize the thickness of your digital pen strokes to create a signature style that suits you best.
• Pen Color: Choose from a wide variety of colors for your virtual pen to add a personal touch to your signature!

8. Button Align

We’ve got a neat feature that allows you, as the administrator, to choose where you want the button to appear in your form. It’s super handy for deciding how the button is positioned horizontally in relation to your form’s design. In Bit Form, you have four awesome options for aligning your button: Left, Right, Center, or Space Between. So go ahead and pick the perfect spot for your button!

9. Button Reverse

With our reverse button feature, you have the power to switch the positions of the clear and undo buttons! It’s as easy as toggling this option to change the order of the buttons. Give it a try and see which setup works best for you!

10. Clear Button

In the Signature Field, you have the freedom to choose whether you want to include or exclude the Clear button. You can easily toggle this option to add or remove the Clear button as per your preference.

13. Helper Text

This option is great for giving visitors more information about what the field is for. You can use it to guide users on what kind of information to enter, any limitations on input, and specific formatting rules.

 14. Required

The Required Field option is super handy because it lets you make a form field mandatory for users to fill out. And guess what? You can even personalize the error message that appears if someone leaves the field blank. How cool is that? With the “Custom Error Message” option, you have the freedom to customize the error message to fit your specific needs. Plus, you can add Leading and Trailing Icons to the error message to make it even more visually appealing.
